92nd Anniversary of the Independence of Finland

We were honored too be invited to this event. The reception was arranged by Honorary Council Michel Wendell and Kicka Wendell at Wallenberg Hall in Stanford
I have to say that the students at Stanford have quite a fantastic campus.
And it was a beautiful evening.

Blu-ray internet device LG BD-390

I was actually not shopping for a Blu-ray player but a device that could stream Netflix and connect to my media storage at home. After reading a zillion of reviews I chose the LG.

Suddenly I had a Blu-ray player that had Vudu, Amazon movies, and Youtube integrated, too. With the 100Mbs home connection I had at time time, multimedia was suddenly a blast.

Jessie and Miikkas Housewarming party

Jessie and Miikka moved towards the Mission (walking distance from us at that time) and arranged a party. Great fun and we probably came home very late (again) :-)

Robin and Byron´s Engagement party

This was one of those weekends with events every day. The next one was our dear friend´s Engagement party, arranged at their place by Robin´s sister and brother. For those not living in the US, there is also a Wedding Shower (arranged by dear friends of the couple) before you get to the actual wedding. Very different from Finland, but very social, you meet lots of people and learn more about everybody, and I like it this way. Robin to the left, BTW.

Thanksgiving at Jenn and Markus place

Jenn and Markus arranged their traditional Thanksgiving party (but neither of them are in my photos), and this time also combined with Yasmin´s 7-year birthday.

Compatibility mode!

I planned to blog a little after a long break and was shocked to see that all my previous posts look very strange. I started reading Blogger news, but found nothing there, then checked with Sirpa and her laptop.

The result is that if you are using older browsers, everything should look ok, but in newer versions you might see all the text "compressed" to the beginning of the post, instead of at the photo I am describing.

On Internet Explorer 8 I fixed it by placing by browser in "Compatibility Mode".
